Michigan Notice of Tenant's Intent to Make Repairs and Deduct from Rent
Michigan tenants, have you notified your landlord that your premises needs repairs? Are you still waiting for those repairs to be done? Before you proceed to make the repairs yourself, serve your landlord with this Notice of Tenant's Intent to Make Repairs and Deduct from Rent, in accordance with State landlord tenant laws.
- The Notice informs the landlord that the tenant intends to undertake necessary repairs, which the landlord has previously been notified about but has not yet fixed.
- The tenant will obtain three estimates and will contract with the lowest bidder to fix the repairs.
- The costs of the repairs will be deducted from the rent.
